Eggesford Barton House (for up to 26 guests)

Once the main farm for The Earls of Portsmouth’s Eggesford estate, we offer exclusive use of Eggesford Barton House, a unique, Grade 11 listed property over 300 years old.
The house surrounds a large garden courtyard and is full of charm and character with pretty Georgian arched windows, exposed oak beams, original fireplaces and quirky sloping floors. Carefully converted and renovated, the rooms are tastefully furnished in a manner sympathetic to the style of the property and the house readily accommodates 26 guests.
The countryside surrounding Eggesford Barton House is quite beautiful with Eggesford Forest and the Tarka Trail on the doorstep, spectacular surfing beaches like Croyde and Saunton Sands to the North, Exmoor to the East and Dartmoor to the West.

The Cider Press (sleeps 16 guests)

The Cider Press forms the North West part of Eggesford Barton House and incorporates the original Georgian farmhouse. The large lounge to the front offers spectacular views over the Taw Valley, Eggesford Forest and open farmland to the front. The snug lounge and large kitchen/breakfast room offer a contrasting view over the garden courtyard.
Unique in character, The Cider Press presents a host of original features such as arched windows, oak beams, bread ovens, original fireplaces and quirky sloping floors. It has been elegantly furnished with the pretty Georgian rooms decorated in period style including iron framed beds and Chesterfield sofas in the snug lounge. The dining room, which was originally the main kitchen to Eggesford Barton House, features the original two fireplaces with bread ovens and a massive Georgian style dining table. The Cider Press easily accommodates 16 guests in seven bedrooms.
